I have a far better price for Egg powder than what I was quoted from Kingfood. The company, Talsar is located in Wetherill Park.

Egg powder is best for baking purposes.

Whole egg powder no sugar is $15/kg and is about 80 fresh eggs

min order is 15kg

Whole Egg powder Sugared - this is best for baking, has 200 Gms of Sugar/kg of powder and about 66 eggs per kilo of powder.

Cost is $12/kg and we need to buy a min of 15 kg.

I also enquired about egg white powder for things like pavalova and meringues.

We can purchase the egg white powder for $18/kg (34 eggs approx) and min order is 20kg

There is also a pavalova mix available which is also $18/kg we need to have a min order of of 20kg

30gms of pavalova mix will yield a pavalova of 8 serves ( recipe will be provided)

I worked this out to be about 55c of powder for a pav of 8 serves - that's pretty darn good!!!

Meringue mix comes in 1.5kg jars for $27

All products when stored correctly have a shelf life of approx 2 years.

Lenards Chickens at Castle Towers was still selling skin on chicken breasts yesterday for $6.99/kg. This is an amazing price and its so easy to remove the skin.

Trim tetra milk low fat is 92c a litre - this is amazing, be sure to check use by date when you purchase.

Cobram Estate Olive Oil 3L $20

Heinz Big and Chunky soups $2 - try the butter chicken, my kids love this with rice or pasta its a souper great and easy meal!

Michelina meals are $3 which is same as Woolworths but you don't have to purchase 5 to get the discount - I recommend these as a quick and yummy meal or snack

Check out the catalogue online for all the specials available for this week. I have found that Norwest Coles have better specials than Castle Hill coles sometimes, so you might want to check that on the website.

I was at Aldi on Tuesday and got 5oog pack of Risoni pasta for 99c

CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE!!!!

Chocolate has arrived!!! My kids went crazy when they saw it: Mum is this all for us? they asked with sweet eagerness!! We wish!!!

Orders will be handed out on Sunday, if you owe any money please bring it on Sunday so I can give you your order.

The next item on my to-do list will be a 3 month storage plan. I will have a rough copy hopefully by Sunday. I still plan to organise an order for Egg powder, I am yet to hear back from the rep from Kingfood about a minimum order but i will chase it up this week. If you are interested in this I was quoted $16/kg. Could you let me know how many kilos you would consider purchasing, as it would give me a guide to let the rep know what approx amount we are interested in purchasing. I would assume you could vaccum seal the powder like you do with flour for storage.

A little birdy has told me that Thrive Food Storage (shelf reliance) might be appearing on shelves in the new Costco Australia chain. I am not exactly sure of what products, but i am sure my little birdy will tell me more when they know more! Watch this space!!!!

As for Costco, the melbourne store is still going ahead, as for the Sydney store, I haven't heard, but if you know something, please share:)

EGG POWDER and Chocolate orders

July/August bulk order will hopefully be Egg Powder. I am yet to hear from the rep from King food as to what the min order needs to be, but I have confirmed it is made from whole egg and its about $16/kg.

I am hoping to finalise payments for the chocolate orders so I can have it delivered this week. I will e-mail you this evening with the amount due and to those who would still like to order there is a little bit left and I will e-mail you.

SARGENT PIES SECONDS OUTLET

I got an e-mail from Esme Bell who takes care of the Co-op Stop for western sydney about a sargent pies outlet. Here are the details:

Open early this Saturday morning at Roper Rd Colyton

Boxes of pies around $16

I am not sure what early means but maybe 7am would be a guess. I will endeavour to find out more info but if anyone decided to go, let us in on what its like.
